Rules and Guidelines for the Montana Postal Workers Union and Auxiliary Scholarship

 
1.  Applicants for this scholarship must either be:
    
a.  a member in good standing of the Montana Postal Workers Union for one year 
  immediately preceding application or

    
b.  the child of a member currently in good standing or who was a member in good
  standing for one year immediately preceding death.  This applicant must be a senior
  attending high school or other corresponding secondary school who is planning on attending
  an accredited college or university to pursue an undergraduate degree.

    
NOTICE:  If the applicant or applicant's qualifying parent is serving in a supervisory
  capacity, this will nullify the application regardless of membership.

 
2.  All applications and other documents for this scholarship must be sent to the Montana
  Postal Workers Union Auxiliary Treasurer, by certified mail, and be postmarked no later
  than
March 31, 2010.

 
3.  Applications for this scholarship must include an official scholarhip form (click HERE).
     A high school senior applying for this scholarship must also provide a letter of
  recommendation from their high school principal, their high school grade transcripts,
  the written recommendation of two teachers and/or high school counselors and their
  personal resume'.  The receipient of the scholarship will be judged on these items.

 
4.  The Montana Postal Workers Union and its Auxiliary will provide annually at least one
  scholarship of $500.00 each year (providing funding is available) maintaining a minimum
  reserve of $1000.00 on deposit.

 
5.  The Montana Postal Workers Union Executive Board will make the decision as to who
  is awarded the yearly scholarship at the MPWU State Convention or Spring Training and
  their decision will be final.

 
6.  The amount of the scholarship will be deposited with the business office, upon proof
  of registration, at the college or university attended by the student and will be used for
  the cost of tuition.  Should the recipient withdraw from the college or university any
  monies refunded are to be sent to the MPWU Scholarship Fund.
